Twenty3

On the eve of my 23rd birthday, I've decided to make twenty three commitments to myself. You probably haven't noticed, but I've been gone for awhile. There's not really an excuse for my absence, but just know I've been thinking. When I created this blog, I wanted it to be my safe space, my place to say what I want, when I want, how I want. I wanted whoever read it to not only understand, but to visualize my every emotion, and to see the person they "think" they know at their most vulnerable state. I've been doing alot of soul searching lately. What have I found, you may ask. Honestly, I can't even answer that. I can say that I'm getting to know myself a little better and , as cliche as it sounds, I'm starting to like her.

Get to the point sis. OK. I am.

As I enter this twenty third year, I am reminded that my time on this Earth is limited, and that it shouldn't be taken for granted. In 2017, there were so many deaths that I was impacted by. I thought to myself, " If I were to die tomorrow, would I be satisfied with the life I lived." Though the answer would be yes, it wouldn't be totally true. I am in fact grateful for every experience thus far, good and bad, but I am not satisfied.

For my 23rd birthday, I've decided to challenge myself in order to become a more effective, efficient, and evolved. I've listed 23 commitments that I will make to myself in this "new" year of me.

23 Commitments:

1. I will ....Stop accepting mediocrity, in all aspects of life

2. I will...Procrastinate less, plan more

3. I will...Listen to understand

4. I will... Pray more and worry less

5. I will... Not let uncontrollable circumstances control me

6. I will... Enjoy & Trust the Process

7. I will... Do what makes me happy

8. I will... Stop comparing my situation to others

9. I will... Not allow negativity into my life

10. I will... Say no without explanation

11. I will... Be a better friend, sister, and daughter

12. I will... Use my gifts

13. I will... Make turn lemons into lemonade

14. I will... Challenge the norm

15. I will... Be the bigger person

16. I will... Not take no for an answer

17. I will... Finish on top

18. I will... Do more

19. I will... Tell God thank you more

20. I will... Set goals, and achieve them

21. I will... Be intentional

22. I will... Be a light

23. I will... GROW
